Last year’s Bark & Wine was so successful, that we ran out of food. Yes, we had double the attendance we were expecting, and we simply ran out. We weren’t going to let that happen again this year, but we were faced with the challenge of providing quality food fit for a wine tasting event on a non-profit rescue’s budget. Not an easy feat! Fortunately, we received the support of some amazing food vendors that we are proud to have at Bark & Wine 2010. We’ll be featuring each one of our food contributors in the coming days.
Dinners by Dani – I met Dani, who was catering a friend’s party, and was floored by her food. Dani caters food for small intimate gatherings to large parties with hundreds in attendance. She also prepares ready-to-go meals for busy families.
At the party, she immediately offered stuffed mushrooms with spinach, bacon, and parmesan bread crumbs. I ate a few more than my share! I followed that with her signature fried olives stuffed with blue cheese. Sounds like a strange combination, i can’t describe it, but believe me, it works. She got me hooked on a blueberry stilton cheese. And finally, I succumbed to one of her steak salad martinis with balsamic vinaigrette. Absolutely delightful!
So when I chatted with Dani about the upcoming Bark & Wine event, and Dani graciously offered to contribute food to the event, I could have jumped over the kitchen counter, and hugged her.
Dani has proposed to prepare for the event, mini salmon cakes with horseradish cream and a crostini with bruschetta, tapenade, etc. The menu is still in the works, but we can’t wait!
